Clinical Core of the

Duke-UNC Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center

The Clinical Core will do the following:

Provide State-of-the-art, comprehensive health care services for patients.

Support and perform Inter-center clinical trials and participate in the multi-center clinical trials conducted by the Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center network.

Support and conduct the clinical research activities of individual investigators.

Identify appropriate study subjects, obtain informed consent, and obtain blood and biologic samples for use in basic research studies.
