Some examples of educational research conducted at Duke Sickle Cell Center:

1. Assess the effectiveness of providing community genetic education with a focus on sickle cell disease by training lay community volunteers as information providers able to educate their peers;

2. Produce training videos on the treatment of patients with sickle cell disease in the Emergency Department;

3. Assess patient satisfaction with Emergency Department treatment before and after an intensive ED staff training program.
