Sickle Cell Scholar Program

Aim 1: Conduct a Phase I study of ENO in SCD patients in steady state to determine the safety, pharmacokinetics and physiologic effects of inhaled ENO.

Aim 2: Conduct a Phase II study of ENO in SCD patients experiencing a vaso-occlusive episode to determine the physiologic effects and potential benefits of ENO in the setting of vaso-occlusion.

Aim 3: Use results of the ancillary studies performed during the above trials to understand the relationship of endothelial/vascular damage with disease activity, presence of end-organ damage, and response to ENO.
