Welcome to the Child Clinical Services of the Duke University Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center.

 

The Center offers a standard of excellence in its comprehensive services to children with sickle cell disease and other hemoglobinopathies throughout North Carolina.
The Center's activities include medical services, educational services, basic and clinical research, screening and testing, psychosocial services, and community outreach. The Center's staff is dedicated to finding better treatments for sickle cell disease. Therefore the center conducts both clinical research and basic scientific research to help discover and prove the usefulness of new ways of treating sickle cell disease and its complications. Available to the center are sophisticated laboratories to perform accurate tests for the diagnosis and treatment of hematologic (blood) disorders and to perform studies in support of a variety of clinical and basic research program.
